Of med check-ups

My flight tix is almost booked! The agency did not tell me how to pay up the remaining sum for the flight and I guess, until I have the ticket in my hand, I cannot say for sure the flight I will be on. With the day of departure not too far off, some friends have been asking me whether I have started to pack or have noted down the things I need to bring.

No I haven't!

That's how lazy I am. I'm still enjoying sleeping and lazing around, doing nothing and waiting for people to ask me out. And trying to choose the shoes to bring over to Aus. And the bags. Yeah... I know I'm going to study not have a fashion show... But I'm a girl! Hahaha... Anyway, had to apply for my electronic visa (That was like a whole session of Q&A... "Do you smoke?" "Are you an alcoholic?") and with that, I have to go for medical check-up as well. So bloody expensive!

Since I was advised to go for the check up as soon as possible so that I can get my visa (A$410), I went for the x-ray immediately after the visa application. X-ray (S$52.75) was over in a flash (literally). Had to remove long earrings, metal parts and hair cannot touch my shoulders etc. Need to stand in front of the machine and act like a hen (read: hands on hips). And you don't get to see it. Why doesn't the visa cover the medical check-up fees as well?!

After that, I had to wait for 1.5-2hrs before going for the health check-up at another location (imagine the amount spent on transport)! So mama and I went to check out skincare since we were warned of the harsh UV rays down under and the dry winter air. That's another S$199 spent on moisturisers and whatnots from Biotherm. Very sick when I see all these bills. Fucking taxing my dad's savings. I feel so guilty. So I really have to do them proud for my studies.

After a round of

with mama, it's back to town for the medical check-up. I never knew that Paragon houses "medical suites" where there are quite a few specialists. We were assigned the clinic to do the examination, so that's S$47.50 gone. But I made sure that I got my money worth by asking for 3 cups of water (It's not that la! Had to do urine test but had no urine in me. I forgot that when I went to NUS, we had all these as well.). Then one of the clinic assistant measured my height and told me I was 160cm. WHAT THE HELL?! That's like my primary 5 height?! I'm at least 168 now ok!!! Turned out there was some mistake in setting up the measuring apparatus. So 168 I was. Flaring up gets you everywhere. Sometimes.

On the way home, I kept wanting to pee. I wonder why. +_+

I'll be very happy if I get to go to Canada too! Thanks for the intro to Nivea. I'm using its body moisturiser now. So far I think the best lip balm is the petroleum jelly kind.

Good luck for your exchange application!
